Hi all, I’ve been producing music for a few years now and finally decided to create a dedicated Instagram page to share clips and behind-the-scenes stuff. A friend of mine told me that buying some followers at the start could help when reaching out to small labels or trying to land collaborations — like, it makes you look more established. But I don’t want it to backfire or seem fake. Does anyone know if that’s something artists actually do, or am I better off growing everything organically from zero?

This is a really interesting angle. I’ve never considered how much Instagram presence could affect music networking, but it makes sense. Same way you wouldn’t book a band with no online footprint — the numbers give people something to trust. Doesn’t mean they define talent, though.
