Hi all, I’ve been producing music for a few years now and finally decided to create a dedicated Instagram page to share clips and behind-the-scenes stuff. A friend of mine told me that buying some followers at the start could help when reaching out to small labels or trying to land collaborations — like, it makes you look more established. But I don’t want it to backfire or seem fake. Does anyone know if that’s something artists actually do, or am I better off growing everything organically from zero?

This is a really interesting angle. I’ve never considered how much Instagram presence could affect music networking, but it makes sense. Same way you wouldn’t book a band with no online footprint — the numbers give people something to trust. Doesn’t mean they define talent, though.
Yeah, I’ve seen quite a few indie artists try that route. My cousin did the same when launching his beatmaking account — before he had any real audience, he used a service to grow instagram followers cheap, just to give the page some presence. It didn’t suddenly make labels reach out, but it did help him get more traction when people checked out his profile after hearing a track. First impressions really matter, especially in music. If someone lands on your page and it looks like nobody’s following, they might bounce even if your sound is fire.
